Austin is a wonderful place for fashion to succeed! Though it may not be the first city you think of for trends and forecasts, you’d be surprised at how we’re shaping modern fashion with our unique personality. With large scale events such as Tribeza Style Week, Austin Fashion Week, and tomorrow’s Style X, forward fashion is gathering attention in Austin. Pair that with the growing movement of vintage fashion events like this week’s Rock ‘n Roll Mall or the Fashion Freakout runway show earlier this month, and you’ll see that we’re leaving our mark on the fashion map.

In fact, Austin has gained a reputation “as a treasure-trove of vintage fashion finds”. There are a growing number of vintage shops who carefully curate their collections for exceptional treasures, which, in turn, inspire local fashion designers like myself to concoct modern creations with a vintage flair. Some of my own personal favorites are Amelia’s Retro-Vogue & Relics, Flashback and New Bohemia. “Fashion can succeed in Austin”, indeed!

Many thanks to our fantastic Tess Team, including work from stylist Edith Henry with modeling by Anya Brill and Pia-Maria Molin. Photographer Amber Richmond captured these fantastic shots on location in downtown Austin.
